I'm now 45k words (or 130 paperback pages) into The Undertaker's Cabinet, so I thought it might be a good idea to show you all the cover. Ta da!
Once again Michaela Margetts (http://www.mmillustrations.com) has made a fantastic cover for me and one which reflects the brief I gave her, perfectly.
I'm hoping to have the first draft completed by late January 2014 and then a release date in February or March.
So what is the story about?
I'm not going to give too much away at the moment but as you might expect, an undertaker's business features heavily! The book is set in a modern day fictional town called Littleoak but there's a significant back story set in Victorian London.
I must say, after writing Victorian horror for the last year, writing something modern was a refreshing change. However...
I've just started the back story and writing Victorian sounding prose again has been an absolute delight. It's already spawned ideas for the next book so watch this space for details.
Thanks for taking a look and watch out for The Undertaker's Cabinet next year!
